“While the construction was underway, I was filled with immense joy, realizing that my community would, at last, gain access to clean drinking water after years of anticipation. Nevertheless, concerns about its sustainability prevailed due to the community's unfamiliarity with sustainable practices. Following my participation in a two-day training, focused on the operation and management of the Water User Committee (WUC), I am now able to confidently assert that sustainability is attainable. The training comprehensively covered aspects such as tariff collection, meter reading, and the overall functioning of the WUC which will directly contribute towards sustainability.” - Rudra Dhoj Karki, Chairperson, Moktan Tole WSS
After the construction of the scheme, each Water User's Committee (WUC) are trained to ensure sustainability of the project. That is why on 13 and 14th August,2023 a two-day training for the WUC was conducted. The main goal of the training was to equip the participants with the necessary skills to effectively manage the Water Supply System. This was achieved by familiarizing them with various subjects such as maintenance, security, and tariff collection.
The extensive focus on interactive sessions, group work, and practical capacitation enhanced the participants existing knowledge thus making the training successful. Thirteen executive members ranging from chairperson to members of the WUC from 5 WSS namely Dadagaun WSS, Satdobato WSS, Manjebari WSS,Swara WSS and Moktan Tole WSS were successfully trained.
