We are thrilled to have Ms. Ishida Miyuki and Mr. Siddhartha Shrestha from the Embassy of Japan visit PIWAAI's third-year WASH project at Tharthan Khola Karangaira Dadagaun Kole Water Supply Community at Balefi Rural Municipality, ward number 4, Sindhupalchok.
This water scheme is designed as a double-stage electrical lifting system to provide water to around 160 households. With the construction of an intake structure in Tharthan Khola which is located about 250 meters down from the top of the community, water is guided to a Horizontal Roughing Filter (HRF) and then to the Bottom RVT from which water is pumped to the intermediate RVT and then lifted to the top of the community. Through 4 RVTS, water is then distributed to clusters of communities throughout the Tharthan Khola Karangaira Dadagaun Kole Water Supply Community.
PIWAAI is a three-year project funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan and jointly implemented by Peace Winds Japan and ISAP.
