We are thrilled to announce the grand inauguration of the Collection Center at Sunkhani, Melamchi Municipality, Sindhupalchok. As part of the “Project for Improving Water Access and Agriculture Income” funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and jointly implemented by Peace Winds Japan and ISAP, we are making significant strides towards revolutionizing the local agricultural landscape, empowering farmers, fostering economic growth and sustainable development in the region.
The collection center will serve as a central hub for farmers to gather, process and distribute their high-quality produce, creating new avenues for increased income and market access. As the project comes to an end, we are delighted to share that the local government of the Melamchi Municipality and the Market Planning Committee formed by PIWAAI, will play a vital role in ensuring the sustainability of the collection center and provide continuous support to the farmers in their journey towards commercial agriculture, providing guidance, resources, and opportunities for growth.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Shiva Lama for providing his land to build the collection center. We also commend the farmers of the 15 Farmer’s Group registered at Melamchi for their active participation and dedication, which has been instrumental in making this project a resounding success.
Together, let us celebrate this momentous occasion, and the positive impact it will have on the lives of countless farmers and their families.
