The first day of a comprehensive Agrovets Retailers Training was conducted by PIWAAI successfully with the purpose of capacitating 10 agrovets with technical skills, and enhancing knowledge to acquire Agrovet certification to extend their business ventures within Balefi and Sunkoshi Rural Municipality, and Melamchi Municipality in Sindhupalchok District.
The training began with a session by Mr. Madhab Bhatta, Plant Protection Officer from Plant Quarantine and Pesticide Management Center (PQPMC). He provided detailed information about what pesticides are, its developmental history, and related laws in Nepal.
This was followed by another session by Mr. Sahadev Prasad Humagain, Chief of PQPMC who gave a thorough presentation on the varieties of pesticides important for agrovets.
Participants are excited for the upcoming days of the training and looking forward to receiving the certification.
