The closing ceremony held on August 16th, 2023, at Melamchi marked a significant milestone for the “Project for Improving Water Access and Agriculture Income”. The central objective of the program was to formally hand over the project's activities and contribution to the local government, ensuring its long-term sustainability.
27 participants comprised of Head of Agriculture section of Melamchi Municipality, Ward representatives, Municipal representatives, Organizational representatives and farmers from various farmers group. The agriculture section committed to offering both technical and moral support. Similarly, the ward representatives guaranteed the careful management of the collection enter established by the organization. These commitments from both the agriculture section and ward representatives collectively demonstrate a comprehensive strategy to ensure the project's sustainability.
Over the course of three years, from its inception to this closing ceremony, the project has been dedicated to enhancing water access and improving agricultural income for the local community. One of the project's focal points was empowering farmers to engage in commercial farming practices, thus boosting their livelihoods and economic status. Through various capacity-building initiatives, farmers were provided with knowledge, tools, and techniques to effectively manage their farms and generate higher agricultural incomes.
The local government representatives and the beneficiary’s heartfelt appreciation served as a testament to the positive impact that the project has had on their lives. With the successful completion of the project, the responsibility was passed on to the local government. This handover ensures that the progress made over the past three years will not be lost but rather carried forward for the benefit of the local community.
