SAFII CONCLUDES WITH A PROMISE OF SUSTAINABILITY
Small Agro Farmers Income Improvement Project (SAFII), a three-year project which started on January 9, 2018 was officially concluded by organizing a Closing Workshop on January 31, 2021 with presence of all the project stakeholders. SAFII, a JICA funded project which was jointly implemented by Peace Winds Japan (PWJ) and Institution for Suitable Actions for Prosperity (ISAP), was implemented in seven wards of Chautara Sangachowk Gadi Municipality, Sindhupalchowk with an aim to increase the agricultural income of farmers.
The project supported 477 small farmers and was able to increase their agriculture income by 52% during the project period. During the closing workshop, the local level representatives applauded JICA, PWJ and ISAP for implementing such an impactful project and showed their commitment to take ownership of SAFII. In addition, they ensured to support the farmers in every possible way to make project-initiated activities sustainable.
We would like to acknowledge JICA and PWJ for providing us an opportunity to implement SAFII project and reach to the beneficiaries. We are thankful to the central and local level officials for supporting the project during the implementation period. We would like to appreciate all the support we received from all the project stakeholders during the project implementation period.
