Project for Improving Water Access and Agriculture Income (PIWAAI) is a 3-year project jointly implemented by Peace Winds Japan (PWJ) and Institution for Suitable Actions for Prosperity (ISAP) with the funding support from Ministry of Foreign Affairs-Japan (MOFA-Japan).
PIWAAI aims to improve the livelihood situation of the beneficiaries of Sindhupalchok district through increased income from vegetable production and improved access to drinking water.
On 25th February 2021, eighteen households of Baseri Khola Dadakateri Water Supply Scheme were benefitted with Solar Powered Double Stage Water Lifting System with individual tap-stands through which they could get water in their own houses. Before the project intervention, the community members had to walk for more than 2 hours each way to collect drinking water and sometimes, had go to the neighboring village- Mankha to collect water. In addition to this, there used to be occasions when women had to travel even farther to find other sources of water during dry seasons.
