Project for Improving Water Access and Agriculture Income (PIWAAI) has successfully completed a three-day Village Maintenance Worker(VMW)Training for the elected Village Maintenance Workersfrom Gagate, Unewchaur and Dadakateri Water Supply Schemes. The training was conducted with the objective to equip the beneficiaries with the skills required to carry out periodic maintenance and basic repair activities to ensure the longevity of the Water Supply Schemes.
Three selected members (2 Male and 1 Female) from each Water Supply had taken part in the training at Balefi, Sindhupalchowk. The training comprised of theoretical explanation on the elements of Water Supply Systems, importance and roles of Village Maintenance Workers as well as practical sessions through which the participants gained a firsthand experience in using repair and maintenance tools, pipe fittings which would be useful for repairing and maintaining the constructed schemes.
