Project for Improvement of Water Access II (PIWA II) is a project funded by Ministry of Foreign Affairs Japan and is jointly implemented by Peace Winds Japan (PWJ) and Institution for Suitable Actions for Prosperity (ISAP) as its executing partner. As the name suggests this project is designed to make safe drinking water accessible to the rural community of Sindhupalchowk District, which is among one of the hard-hit districts by Earthquake 2015.
As the project is running in its 2nd phase the work has been divided into various phases from months for the implementation of the Water Supply Scheme. Majority of the activities were directed towards building consensus in the community and government for construction of targeted 5 water supply schemes at 8 kilo, Bhirkuna, KhetaTole, Kuile, and Timure. The majority of the building consensus activities have been completed for the four WSS.
We are planning to complete the construction of Intake in a few months despite the heavy monsoon rain and difficult road situation, still committed to meet our goals.
P.S Here are some glimpses of PIWA II directly from the field.
