Project Biswas for Remedial Education Classes (REC)
37% of students in grade 2 could not read a simple word in Nepali while just 30% of students in public schools passed their SLC exam in 2014. Changing Stories Nepal, in partnership with ISAP, is here to change these stories of low-quality learning of students in the Nepalese public schools through Project Biswas.
Project Biswas is a program tailored to meet the specific learning needs of public school students in grades 2 to 5 with identified major deficiencies in Nepali and Numeracy literacy. A workshop was held today to develop a curriculum on Nepali and Numeracy literacy courses for the Remedial Education Classes (REC). We discussed the proposed curriculum by our education experts, Mr, Sunil Pokharel and Parichaya Publication Team. The curriculum will be further revised after this workshop, incorporating more interactive learning materials.
The Remedial education Classes (REC) will start from May, 2017 in 5 public schools of Makwanpur. We hope that significant improvement in Nepali and Numeracy literacy of the selected students will be achieved through REC.
