PIWAAI conducts refresher trainings to follow up, refresh and extend the knowledge and skills acquired by the farmers during the beginning of the project. This training is designed to help the farmers to review information they may have forgotten or brush up on new information they may not be aware of.
The refresher training of off-season tomato nursery management was provided to the farmers who had received plastic house in the first year. They reviewed about the preparation of media to grow seedlings, and the technique of line seed sowing and spacing on a raised nursery bed. This was followed by a practicum of using polytray to plant seedlings.
More refresher training will be conducted periodically to increase efficiency of the farmers of the project.
