“Agro Business Fundamental” workshop was successfully concluded at Melchaur, Sindhupalchowk, after the completion in Ramechhap and Rasuwa.
Throughout the workshop, 12 small-scale agro-entrepreneurs came to realization about various factors that has had been affecting their growth. One entrepreneur came to know that he had made profit of only NRs. 2200 even after selling 13,000 cauliflowers due to low margin in selling price in compared to the cost of production. Other entrepreneurs also shared the similar stories as they lacked bookkeeping knowledge and habit, leading to unaccounted profit and loss.
The role playing and practical activities played vital role in the learning process, especially for two of our participants who were unable to read and write.
By the concluding day of the workshop where the participants have to make future business plan, the extraordinary change in their planning method was noticeable. For example, goat farmers came to realize that the better breeds of goats are needed to take their small-scale enterprise to commercial level. Other factors, such as feed quantity and quality for equal growth of goats in the farm, and construction of suitable farm, were also considered meticulously while planning for their future business activities.
